Uist News, Friday 17th October A misty start to the day here on Uist today. It has started to clear now though, with lovely bright sunshine starting to break through the clouds. The forecast for the rest of the day is looking cloudy, but it should stay dry. It is now deer rutting season on Uist. If you go out late at night, you can hear the eerie sound of the stags roaring, a sound that can be very spooky, especially when heard at night or on a misty morning like today.
Miniature narcissus is just another name for a dwarf daffodil variety. Like regular-sized daffodils, they grow from fall planted bulbs and bloom in spring. The size of a dwarf daffodil depends on the variety, but generally they grow 4 to 6 inches (10-15 cm.) tall with flowers that are just one and a half inches (4 cm.).
