Uist News, Thursday 8th May A beautiful start to the day here on North Uist today. It is forecast to remain the same for the rest of the day with temperatures of up to 11 degrees. Wildlife spotted on Uist yesterday were a Little Egret at Coot Loch and a Little Stint and Sandwich Terns at Stinky Bay. A White-pinion Spotted moth was also seen at North Loch Eynort last night. The flag at Balivanich Council Offices was raised at 8.30am this morning to mark the 80th anniversary of the end of World War Two.
We gratefully remember the courage and sacrifice of everyone involved in the fight for our freedom.
